Will Ferrell Reveals 'Special Moment' with Demi Lovato on Set of New Movie

Throughout his career, Will Ferrell has starred in so many incredible and hilarious movies. From Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, to Step Brothers, to Zoolander, these films are enough to lift your spirits when you really need it. And according to the actor himself, his movies helped Demi Lovato when she was going through her own difficult time.

Ferrell recently appeared on the "Las Culturistas" podcast with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang to talk about his new movie Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, in which Lovato co-stars with him. Will called Demi "fantastic" and "sweet and lovely" to work with. He added, "She was actually shooting during her birthday."

Then, the actor went on to describe a "really special moment" between himself and Lovato. Demi had told Ferrell that watching his movies really helped her as she was in recovery following her overdose in 2018. He recalled:

"We kind of had this really special moment where ... and she had just come out of her last rehab stint. [Demi said], 'I really wanted to work on this because I'm a fan.' And I go, 'You're so sweet, I can't believe you're doing this. I just can't believe [it].' And she said, 'But, I have to tell you, watching your movies really kind of helped me kinda go through what I had to go through.' It's weird when you get hit in the chest with something like that, and it's so personal to her. It was one of the sweetest things ever. And I was like, 'And now, you're going to do this crazy character in this movie.' And she's like, 'I don't get to do things like this.' So, it was really kind of beautiful. And she was up for anything. And, the thing that struck us too, was you forget that, oh my God, she is an absolute pro."

Ferrell added, "She hits the stage, she knows exactly where the camera is, she's turning perfectly. [She's a] stone cold pro."

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga also stars Rachel McAdams, Pierce Brosnan and Dan Stevens, and is set to be released on Netflix on June 26th.
