Demi Lovato has returned with a new single.
Hours ago, the singer posted a cryptic tweet signaling new music to come early this morning (September 30). âMusic is always there for me... song in the am,â she tweeted last night, teasing a record which we now as âStill Have Me.â
Lovatoâs latest single is an anthem of independence, with lyrics that speak truth to the power of believing in oneâs self even during times of loneliness and uncertainty.
âI'm a mess and I'm still broken/ But I'm finding my way back/ And it feels like someone's stolen/ All the light I ever had,â Lovato sings on the emotional piano ballad, leading to the emotionally-charged chorus: âI donât have much but at least I still have me/ And thatâs all I need.â
Itâs curious timing to put out new music for Lovato, who has been more or less embroiled in a messy public breakup with ex-fiance Max Ehrich, with whom she called it quits two months after announcing their engagement in July.
As fans know, Ehrich, who claims he was blindsided by the breakup news, said he and Lovato hadnât even âofficiallyâ broken off their engagement, despite learning about their split âthrough a tabloid.â
Insiders say Lovato is âcompletely embarrassedâ by the 29-year-oldâs behavior on social media. "Demi is completely done and doesn't want to see him again at this point," a source told E! News. "She can't believe she fell into his trap and is really upset over it."
âStill Have Meâ is Lovatoâs newest offering to follow her uplifting collaboration with Marshmello on âOK Not To Be OKâ and her duet with JoJo on âLonely Heartsâ (Remix). With her latest release, the Disney darling has unveiled five singles this year so far, including âAnyone,â âI Love Me,â and âIâm Readyâ with Sam Smith.
