Harrisonburg, VA – Great Community Give, Harrisonburg and Rockingham’s annual giving day event, celebrates a new record. Since its inception in 2018, Great Community Give has risen to become a major fundraiser for many local nonprofit agencies. The first GCG celebrated the work of 53 nonprofits. As of today, 149 nonprofit organizations are participating in the upcoming April event, surpassing last year’s record number of 125.
The Community Foundation of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County (TCFHR) is the proud and happy host of this community-wide initiative. “The Community Foundation is ecstatic to see this level of participation from local nonprofit groups. We continue to learn about more causes that serve our area on a daily basis. Harrisonburg and Rockingham’s 6th sunrise to sunset day of charitable giving is scheduled for the third Wednesday in April, April 19, 2023 from 6:30am to 8:00pm. The goal for this year is to raise $2 million for those 149 participating organizations. Learn more at www.greatcommunitygive.org.
