Sabrina Carpenter's Bold New Album is "Not for Pearl Clutchers"

Sabrina Carpenter is back — and she’s not holding anything back. Her brand-new album, Man’s Best Friend, has officially landed, and it comes packaged with a wild, theatrical video for her latest single, “Tears.”

The track mixes Carpenter’s sharp wit with tongue-in-cheek lyrics like “Baby, just do the dishes, I’ll give you what you want.” The video pushes the spectacle even further, featuring Colman Domingo channeling Rocky Horror-inspired camp, greeting Carpenter as she wanders into a bizarre funhouse filled with over-the-top characters.

The album itself is 12 songs deep, with most tracks stamped explicit — a choice that fits perfectly with its provocative cover art (yep, the one that already had fans talking). Carpenter herself summed it up best: The album is not for pearl clutchers… but I think even they might smirk listening to it alone.”

Man’s Best Friend follows the success of “Manchild,” her first-ever No. 1 U.S. debut single, and comes on the heels of her Grammy-winning record Short n’ Sweet. Carpenter’s star has been skyrocketing thanks to hits like “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.”

And she’s not slowing down. After wrapping her Short n’ Sweet tour earlier this year, she’ll be back onstage this fall with sets at Austin City Limits, and next year she’ll take her show international at Lollapalooza Chile, Argentina, and Brazil.
