Young Thug Explains Why He Can’t Reunite With Gunna

Young Thug is opening up about the fallout between him and Gunna since their involvement in the YSL RICO case—and it's clear things aren’t returning to how they once were.

On a recent episode of the It’s Up There Podcast, Thug admitted that their relationship has changed beyond repair. “I’ll never look at you the same, no matter what,” he said, adding that although he still cares for Gunna, they’re now walking different paths.

Gunna entered a plea in December 2022 that included acknowledging YSL was a gang, a move many speculated may have strained trust between the two. Thug remained behind bars until October 2024, when he accepted a plea deal himself and was released with conditions like strict probation and limitations on his activities.

Reflecting on their past closeness, he said, “I know what I did with you and for you … all the times we shared.” But when it comes to reconciling, he’s made it clear: “I still want you to eat, just not at my table.”

Though Thug still speaks of loyalty and shared history, he’s insisted that there’s no going back to how things were.
