Playboi Carti, whose real name is Jordan Terrell Carter, has been charged with misdemeanor assault after an alleged incident in Park City, Utah. According to law enforcement officials, the altercation occurred on October 2, when Carti’s limousine driver claimed he was assaulted while driving the rapper to rehearsals.

Local news outlet KSL obtained police reports indicating that the driver, identified as Reynolds, told authorities an argument broke out in the vehicle between Carti and his girlfriend. When Reynolds intervened, he alleges that Carti struck him. Carti’s head of security reportedly stepped in to separate the two, and another driver witnessed the altercation.

The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, documented the driver’s injuries, and confirmed that the case remains under investigation.

This latest charge adds to Carti’s history of legal troubles. In 2017, he was arrested for domestic battery, and two years later, fined for assaulting his tour bus driver in Scotland. In 2020, he was arrested in Georgia after police found drugs and firearms in his vehicle. More recently, in 2022, he faced a felony assault charge for allegedly choking his then-pregnant girlfriend.
