Rod Wave has been arrested in Atlanta on several drug and weapon-related charges. The 27-year-old artist, born Rodarius Green, was taken into custody on Friday (Nov. 7) in Fulton County. According to reports published by TMZ, he is charged with possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony, reckless driving, and possession of both Schedule II and Schedule V controlled substances. He was booked into the Fulton County Jail and remained held as of Saturday morning.

In a statement, Rod Wave’s attorney, Drew Findling, claimed that the arrest was unlawful and the result of profiling. Findling pointed to the involvement of the Atlanta Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit, describing the group as known for aggressive tactics and arrest quotas. He stated that the arrest came on the same day the musician received a Grammy nomination, calling the charges “baseless” and vowing to challenge them in court.

This marks the latest in a series of legal issues for Rod Wave. Earlier this year, he was arrested on aggravated assault and firearm charges connected to an alleged incident in April, though he was released on bond and denied the accusations. He has also previously faced weapons-related charges in Florida and a battery charge in 2022 that was later dropped.

Despite his legal troubles, Rod Wave has continued releasing music, including the 2025 singles “Westside Connection” and “Sinners,” the latter featured on the Sinners film soundtrack. His most recent album, Last Lap, arrived in October 2024 and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
