Sean “Diddy” Combs spent this Thanksgiving giving back to the people around him at FCI Fort Dix, where he is in the first year of his federal sentence. According to TMZ, the 56-year-old music mogul helped organize and finance a holiday meal for roughly 1,000 incarcerated individuals on Thursday, Nov. 27.

Through a representative, Combs said the initiative was about supporting others during a difficult time of year. “Thanksgiving is about making sure everyone has something to eat,” he shared. “People miss their families, and the holidays can be really hard. We wanted to come together and create our own sense of family.”

Working alongside a group known as Bankroll Bosses, Combs helped gather commissary ingredients, spent two days prepping food, and assisted in distributing plates to each unit at the New Jersey prison. The improvised feast included turkey, classic holiday sides, and dessert. Without access to normal kitchen tools such as knives, microwaves, or stoves, the group resorted to using ID cards to slice food and found creative ways to assemble the meal.

Combs was transferred to Fort Dix in October after receiving a 50-month sentence for federal charges related to transportation for prostitution. His sentence includes a $500,000 fine and five years of supervised release. His lawyers are currently appealing his conviction and the length of the sentence.

Despite his circumstances, Combs said he has found moments of connection behind bars. “People misunderstand what prison can be,” he told TMZ. “There’s a real brotherhood here. We support one another. It brings a little bit of home into a very dark place.”
